He's the one who likes all our pretty songs
Today (and yesterday) on Much More Music an episode of Classic Albums was airing, and the album being featured was Nevermind by Nirvana. There much much discussion with Butch Vig about the actual production of the album which was facinating to see.
Watching it sort of re-sparked my appreciation of that album, and of Nirvana in general. I've always been a fan, but I distanced myself from the hype and adulation surrounding them. The decade since Kurt's death has seen me sell off some of their albums, and the ones I kept, I've hardly listened to. Now, in retrospect, I've come back to their music with a fresh admiration. I don't think that any album released since Nevermind has matched what it did in its particular idiom (lets call it...heavy/melodic). It still sounds remarkable after 14 years.
What else...
oh, you should check out this quiz to see where your politcal orientation lies. Even if you aren't really interested in politics you might find it quite interesting. I did.
By the way...I scored a -7 on the economic scale (collectivism) and a -2 on the authoritarian scale (libertarian).
Apparetly that puts me in the neighbourhood of Gandhi and Nelson Mandela's views, and puts me almost diametrically opposed to those of George Bush and Margaret Thatcher.
I don't suppose this test could be 100% accurate, but it's interesting none-the-less. If you take the test, and are comfortable sharing, let us know what you got...I'd be interested to know.

Been Listening to:
Nirvana - Nevermind
K-OS - Joyful Rebellion (i like this album and that title alot... I like the idea of "joyful rebellion". It sounds like an ideology I could get behind...almost...christian?)
