Pauly Shore is not dead, he's just really sad...
I realize that it's been a rediculously long time since I've posted, and for that I must apologize. I haven't felt like there's been much to say, I guess. So, I guess I'll go to my usual default and avoid saying anything significant about my life, about my thoughts and feelings or any of that, and try to compensate by putting up a bunch of mindless links and referencing all the cool scenester music I know. Maybe then you'll think I'm cool.
So, here goes...
Saw Damien Jurado last night @ Trinity, which was fantastic. He really is something special live. It's not often that you see someone with just an acoustic guitar who is able to shut up an entire room.
I have a ticket to the Low and Pedro the Lion show tomorrow, but I'm not sure that I want to go anymore. If you want it, let me know.
Someone you should definitely check out is Ari Neufeld. He plays regularly at the Royal Bar on Granville. He also works there. You should go see him because he's going to be a star, and you can say "I knew him back when...". Definitely check him out if you enjoy Damien Rice and the like.
Visit Joe Nanderson's blog. Say something nice too, 'cause he's nice, and he makes music that will make your cat purr. He's been galavanting around different parts of the known world, and has some lovely pictures to show for it.
Last but not least....sbemail,oh how I've neglected thee... I recommend "best thing" and "rock opera"...a lot.
Oh yeah, if you didn't know, the title of this post is a reference to a movie, one which I had the pleasure of viewing recently. One which is simultaneously the best and the worst movie ever. How is this possible, you ask? It's the mysterious paradox of life, my friend. I guess I just related to this movie, in that Pauly plays a washed up actor who hangs out with Charlie Sheen, and gets in bed with Hilton sisters.
Gratuitous celebrity cameos are surely a sign of the coming apocalypse.

Sounds like....
Maplewood Lane- the golden skies
I got an advance copy of their upcoming ep (Thanks, Nate!). It sounds fantastic. They've gone for a bit of an edgier, fuller sound, and the production is topnotch.
Eisley- Room Noises
Hasn't left my cd player in a month, 24-7, Eisley 4Eva.
